Venetia and Daphne
Sisters Venetia Epler and Daphne Huntington (‘The Girls’) are California artists. They are well known for their extraordinary ‘Life of Christ’ murals, one of which is the largest religious mosaic in the world situated at Forest Lawn in West Covina. The other equally beautiful mosaic is at Woodlawn Memorial Park, in Orlando, Florida. The Girls began painting religious subjects soon after being visited by an Angel, who left them with the knowledge that that is what they needed to do. But they have also worked extensively in many other forms of art including ceramic novelties, animation for film and TV (Charlotte’s Web and literally hundreds of television episodes), stained glass, ceramic dinnerware, landscapes, still life and seascapes. Venetia has also painted many portraits. Her very distinguished portrait Eisenhower hung in the Whitehouse during the Nixon administration. The Girls often worked on one another’s paintings, putting their unique strengths to work; they have even been known to sign each other’s pictures if they found themselves short of a painting or two for an exhibition! We are very proud to be making this collection available to the public for the very first time at LordsArt.com. It contains some of their most popular works of art. The Blue Madonna and the Madonna and Child are without a doubt Venetia’s personal masterpieces. The beautiful faces she creates hold so much love you can almost feel the warmth of the Spirit embracing you. Over the years both Girls have been referred to by many people as being Angels. No coincidence then that they should have ended up painting them with quite so much passion.
